Licence Term = 5 Years

Fees for Master Licences depend on the number of security licensees who are employed by a Master Licence holder during the term of that licence.
 

• Sole Trader (No other employed Security Licensees) = $300.00
   
• 01 - 10 Employed Security Licensees = $550.00
   
• 11 - 50 Employed Security Licensees = $1050.00
   
• 51 or more Employed Security Licensees = $2050.00

For Security Officers
OLD: Class 1A (General Security) and Class 1B (Bodyguard) $35 per year
NEW: Class 1A (General Security) 1B (Bodyguard) 1C (Crowd Control)
$350.00 for a five year licence ($300.00 + $50.00 non refundable application fee)
or
proposed $85.00 for a one year licence ($35.00 + $50.00 non refundable application fee)

For Security Consultants
OLD: Class 3
NEW: Class 2A (Consultant)

For persons involved in the training or instruction of security guards
OLD: No license necessary
NEW: Class 2D can be combined with Class 1ABC)

For employers of Security Guards, Bodyguards and Crowd Controllers
OLD: Class 2
NEW: Master Licence

All Licences for Class 1 and Class 2 will be photo licences

New Regulations for Security Officers

Training requirements

OLD: Completion of a two days 1AB Course
NEW: Completion of a VETAB Approved Certificate II in Security.
NEW: All Security Officers must hold a current Senior First Aid Certificate
